Songs that will never leave you

Smog:

Cold-blooded old times
Cold-blooded old times
Cold-blooded old times

The type of memories
that turn your bones to glass
turn your bones to glass

mother came rushing in
she said we didn't see a thing
we said we didn't see a thing

and father left at eight
nearly splintering the gate
cold-blooded old times

Cold-blooded old times
Cold-blooded old times
Cold-blooded old times

the type of memories
that turn your bones
turn your bones to glass

and though you were
just a little squirrel
you understood every word

and in this way
they gave you clarity

a cold-blooded clarity

Cold-blooded old times
Cold-blooded old times
Cold-blooded old times

though how can I stand
and laugh with the man
who redefined your body?

how can I stand
and laugh with the man
who redefined your body?

those cold-blooded old times
cold-blooded old times
cold-blooded old times

Okay I have to admit this now. For a long time I've been harbouring certain 'feelings'. I've tried and tried to keep a lid on them but the urge has become too strong and I've lost the fight. Over the weekend I went down to the park and... well you can imagine the rest...

Now I've decided to come out of the closet about this I know that many of you will be shocked and I will lose many friends along the way. All I can say is that these feelings are not bad or evil, they're just part of who I am and I hope you can learn to accept me and remember the Wontok you knew before this came out.

So now we come to the crunch... I've gone digital! There! I said it, I'm out & proud honey so deal with it! Will I be vacating the lomo site? I don't think so. As an medium its just too good to miss so here i'll stay. Sure I'll develop some film occaisionally, I like to think I swing both ways, but the cost and convenience of digital is too tempting.

Of course I may tire of the whole thing in which case the only solution is a film scanner, I just can't be hacked shelling out a fortune on prints and then having to scan them, or shelling out a fortune on dev and a CD.

It comes to us all in the end

We upload and upload and then the site throws a wobbly and gives us pause for thought. So I've started a major cull. I mean I can look at blurry photos for ever and a day but there comes a point when you have to say 'okay, this blurry photo is definately not that good. To be honest at this point in my rollercoaster it feels quite good!

Also some news to come! I'm so excited!

Cafe Torino

Got these lush shots back from skiing near Turin and I can't believe how red they've come out. Cool! Don't know whether it was being frozen in the plane's hold then frozen on the slopes or not but it rocks! I like this one despite the stuck shutter.

Have to keep an eye on that.

So I went to see Turner, Monet, Whistler at the Tate yesterday.

A bit picture postcardy but Whistler's nocturnes are the canine's cajones.

I particularly enjoyed the veiled suggestion of 'we did it fir-irst' re: Monet and Turner.
